Reporting to the Managing Director, the role holder will establish policies, streamline processes, sense-check sales projections and commercial objectives, and govern the financial risk management process
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance to ensure the companyโs long-term financial stability
- Ensure the company meets its financial commitments and goals
- To provide financial sense-check and governance of the long-term growth strategy, annual budget objectives and targets
- Manage the preparation of budgets, sales reports and forecasts
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts and presentation to the board
- Day-to-day management and supervision of the finance & operations assistant
- Provide guidance for setting margins and pricing
- Streamlining processes and identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities
- Identify and report on KPIs
- Managing finance assistant and reviewing accounts receivable and payable, payroll, banking and all general ledger entries
- Keep abreast of requirements and changes in financial/tax regulations and legislation.
- Several yearsโ experience of working as a Finance Manager or senior accountant
- Recognised senior accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial acumen
- Must be a strategic thinker
- Good understanding of tax
- Project management skills
- Broad understanding of current affairs and impact on currency/foreign exchange.
